Lyft Business and SAP Concur Integration for people management

Integrate Lyft Business with SAP Concur to easily manage your employees.

The Lyft Business and SAP Concur integration enables organizations to easily adopt Lyft Business and seamlessly manage the onboarding and offboarding of employees to Lyft Business, all through SAP Concur.

Please note this integration works with SAP Concur’s Expense offerings only.

Getting set up

What is the Lyft Business and SAP Concur Integration?

Lyft Business integrates with Concur Expense to enable seamless expensing of business rides company-wide, while also giving Travel Managers greater visibility into their employees’ Lyft usage and easier onboarding/offboarding of employees. This integration is a secure way for your organization to automate the way you invite employees to join your Lyft Business account and remove employees who depart from your account. You can think of it as a connection between your organization and Lyft, using an integration with your organization’s existing SAP Concur account. We check for updates to your employee roster in SAP Concur on a daily basis so you no longer have to worry about manually adjusting and adding/removing people and permissions.

How to set up the Lyft Business and SAP Concur Integration

To begin set up, the user who enables the app in Concur’s App Center must be an authorized SAP Concur Administrator. If you are unsure whether you are an SAP Concur Administrator, please refer to the SAP Concur Administrator User Guide.

At the end of the set up flow, you’ll be able to sync your employee roster from SAP Concur as soon as your Lyft Business account is integrated successfully. We recommend making any changes to your employee roster in SAP Concur prior to beginning the integration.
  1. Log in to your organization’s SAP Concur account and navigate to the SAP Concur App Center (click on the App Center tab in the upper navigation bar).
  2. Enter ‘Lyft Business’ in the search bar and click on the application. Please ensure you search for ‘Lyft Business’ to locate the correct app for People Sync (do not select the ‘Lyft’ app under Popular Connections as that is for individual expense management.)

  3. Click ‘Connect’ from the Lyft Business listing page to begin the integration process. You will then see a pop-up window asking you to accept SAP Concur App Center Terms and Conditions, Shared Information, and Access Authorization. By accepting these terms, you agree to be bound by the Concur App Center terms and conditions, as well as partner licensing terms and conditions.
  4. Once Terms and Conditions have been accepted, follow the below steps:

    — Click ‘Sign in to Lyft Business’ if you have an existing Lyft Business account and follow the standard sign in flow using your phone number tied to your Lyft Business account.
    — If you are new to Lyft Business and your organization doesn’t have an account yet, click ‘Create account’ and follow the instructions to sign up for Lyft Business.

  7. You’ll see a pop-up window with stating that all active employees within your SAP Concur account located in the US (where Lyft is available) will be sent an email invitation to create a Business Profile. 8. When the sync is complete, the active employees in your SAP Concur account who have not yet created a Lyft Business profile will receive an invitation via email to create a Business Profile under your organization’s Lyft Business account.
  9. You’ll be able to view all of your employees who’ve been invited to Lyft Business under the ‘People’ tab in your Lyft Business Portal. Please note it may take time for your employees to appear in the ‘People’ tab as the invitation emails will be sent over the coming hours. You will also continue to see your employees in the ‘People’ tab who have already created a Lyft Business Profile prior to the integration.
Tip: If your employee has accepted their invite and created a Lyft Business Profile under your organization, their full name will appear bolded on the People page. If they have not yet created their Business Profile, you will see only their email address.
  10. You can manage the SAP Concur integration in the Lyft Business Portal by clicking ‘Settings’ in the left sidebar, and clicking ‘Automation’. From this page, you can pause or restart the sync at any time.

If a sync is already in progress, SAP Concur will complete the sync first before pausing. You can also unpause the sync any time. Once you unpause (restart) the sync, the system will catch up and re-sync all employees that are currently in SAP Concur.

How often does the system sync?

As soon as you set up the integration, the system will automatically sync all of your employees to your Lyft Business account. This may take a few hours to complete depending on the size of your organization. After that, the system will sync your employees every 24 hours.

How do I manage employees once I have the integration set up?

All employees need to be managed from within your company’s SAP Concur account. Here are common scenarios that can happen if you manage your employees manually in the Lyft Business Portal:

  • Any employees you add manually in the Lyft Business Portal who are not on your employee roster in SAP Concur will not be managed by the integration. They will still receive a Business Profile invite and any SAP Concur account changes will not affect them.
  • Any employees you add manually in the Lyft Business Portal who are also on the SAP Concur account will be overwritten and become managed by the SAP Concur account.
  • Any employees you remove manually from the Lyft Business Portal but are not removed from your SAP Concur account will be added back automatically when the next daily sync takes place.

Will the Lyft Business and Concur integration automatically give my employees access to Auto Pay or Credits?

No — you will still need to manually give your employees access to your organization’s Auto Pay accounts and/or Credits programs.

Can I use SFTP People Sync still?

No. You can only use one or the other. If you’d like to set up SFTP People Sync, you must first disable the Lyft Business and Concur integration. Likewise, if you’d like to set up the Lyft Business and Concur integration, you must first disable SFTP People Sync.

How do I pause the Lyft Business and SAP Concur integration?

  1. ClickSettings’, then ‘Automation’ and then select the ‘Concur’ box.

I received a “This domain already has an account” error message when I tried to sign up for an account. What do I do?

This happens when someone within your organization has already set up and claimed a Lyft Business account. Please reach out to whoever manages your Lyft Business account and they should be able to grant you admin access. If you don’t know who to contact, please reach out to Lyft Business Support for assistance.

I received a “We were unable to connect to Concur’s servers” error message. What happened?

This can happen in rare occasions when SAP Concur’s servers are unresponsive. Please wait a few minutes and then try to run the sync again.

What data is shared between SAP Concur and Lyft? How long does Lyft store the data?

The following data is shared between SAP Concur and Lyft for every employee on your SAP Concur roster:

  • First and last name of the employees on your SAP Concur roster.
  • Login ID — the ID the employee uses to log in to SAP Concur. This is usually your employees’ work email address.
  • Employee ID — the employee ID of the user in SAP Concur. This is also usually your employees’ work email address.
  • ID — the unique numerical identifier for a user in SAP Concur’s system.

Lyft stores this data for 30 days and then disposes of it. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

What exact emails will employees receive after I set up the integration?

Your employees will receive the standard Business Profile invitation series after they set up the Lyft Business and SAP Concur integration. View a preview of what the Business Profile invitation email and sign up flow looks like, or contact your account manager to request a preview.
