What are custom fields?
Lyft Business admins have the ability to create and manage unique data fields for each Lyft Pass program in order to collect information they need for both reporting and billing purposes.
Please refrain from collecting any highly sensitive information through custom fields, such as dates of birth, patient ID numbers, social security numbers, financial information, or any other personally identifiable information for any and all riders.
How do custom fields work?
Admins can add custom fields at the program level, which means that every Lyft Pass program can have its own specific set of custom fields. You can choose both the name of the custom field and make the custom field a freeform entry.
When distributing Lyft Passes, admins will see the custom fields that were set up for the program and use those fields to input data.
The data from the fields will populate in your Lyft Pass transaction reports for every ride. You'll be able to view the data in the Lyft Business Portal via the Lyft Pass > Rides and Insights tabs, as well under the Sharing tab for each individual Lyft Pass program.

How to delete a custom field in the Lyft Pass program
If you are a program admin, you can only delete the custom fields that are specific to your program.
Once a custom field is deleted, it will be removed from the current and past month's transaction report. We recommend downloading the past month's reports before deleting the fields, if you still want access to past month's custom field data.
If you need data from the custom field to populate in the current month's transaction report, we recommend waiting to delete the field until the current month's transaction report has been downloaded and you have the data you need.
To delete a custom field:
- Log in to the Lyft Business Portal
- Select ‘Lyft Pass’ and then ‘Programs’
- Select ‘Edit program’
